We have the power to change the world with every action!

Ok. So the world needs to change... A friend of mine posted a petition for making plastic bags essentially illegal. I would sign this petition but I saw it months after it was posted and there was only 80 signatures out of the 1000 requested. That's a sad thing to see. The individual posts on there were about forcing the hand of government or forcing grocery stores to change or some other form of action. None of it started with themselves making a change. Money talks plain and simple. The grocery chains are using there bags as a marketing tool. Every bag you get handed to you has a name on it. There is huge money in marketing and branding. So, do you think a company is going to stop giving out a marketing tool if every person on the receiving end is going to say thank you, walk out of the store proudly brandishing their new purchase from the store labeled on the side of the bag? No! You take it they say thank you you fine walking billboard. STOP ACCEPTING THE BAGS. Each and everyone of you, your neighbors, your kids, everyone. It doesn't end up in the environment if you don't pack your S#*t home in it. Don't take the plastic home, leave it hanging on the grocers checkout hook and walk away with your purchase. The grocers won't carry dead products if it's costing money and not gaining them anything. They won't buy more plastic bags at a loss. It's us who have the power to end the use of plastic bags and we don't need a petition or our government to do it. Educate yourselves on the options and don't be afraid to share your thought with the people in your lives. Don't just post it on Facebook and hope the world hears about it. Your thoughts are nothing but a whisper in the Grand Canyon of the communication world if all you do is post it. Please share that thought with everyone you know and maybe they will share and change, causing a ripple so big it's heard the world over and THEN something will finally change.
